This mysterious rarely fig variety came from a old farm in Oxford Falls where the owner of this tree (a retired Nursery owner) said that this particular fig variety is their favourite of the many fig varieties that they grow on their farm. We are uncertain of the origins of this tree except that it was purchased many years ago labled as a Russisan Fig variety. Sorry the name has been lost and after much searching and I we haven’t been able to find an exact ID. The fruit of this variety are slightly smaller than Black Genoa or White Adriatic Figs, however this particular tree variety produces a ‘prolific’ crop of fruit each season with lots of fruit on each branch. Our nursery now have about 30 pots for sale in 30cm pots (many have fruit already such as the example pictured – from last season). www.thegardenpotworkshop.com
